Question: You mention that your research involve taking things apart, what is it that gets taken apart?

Bits of equipment. Usually it’s something like a camera. The project needs the imaging part of the camera but the lens mount is wrong and it won’t fit in the right space. So the cover comes off and the electronics are exposed and new lens mount is made. It’s faster, easier and cheaper than making a camera from scratch.
