In my first science job after university, I did almost lose my job because they were making people redundant! One of the first things I did was look to see what other jobs were around me in science, because there are lots of companies that do science nowadays. I was lucky to get offered a new job fairly quickly, which has led me to where I am today.
If I hadn’t been able to find a job in lab science, I think I might have gone back to university to do a Masters, maybe in bioinformatics. Bioinformatics is, in short, using computers to process the large amounts of biological information and data that we have available to us now.
